What You'll Do
As our Payroll & Operations Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our internal engine. You’ll oversee client management and internal payroll, streamline day-to-day processes, and work closely with leadership to ensure we stay compliant, efficient, and client focused.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing across multiple clients and jurisdictions.
- Maintain compliance with tax and employment regulations, keeping systems and records audit-ready.
- Lead and improve internal operations (workflow design, document management, reporting, maintenance of processes and systems etc.).
- Optimise the use of software, AI tools and other SME-friendly platforms.
- Support onboarding of new clients and staff from an operational perspective.
- Identify and implement process improvements that reduce bottlenecks and enhance service delivery.
- Collaborate directly with leadership and client teams—your voice will be heard.
What We're Looking For
- 3–5+ years of payroll and/or operations management experience, ideally in accounting or professional services.
- Strong understanding of small business payroll, including NI, PAYE, superannuation, leave, accruals and awards.
- Comfortable working across multiple systems and accounts.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and solution-focused.
- A self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced SME environment.
- Bonus: Experience with process automation or SOP development.
